Staff Spotlight: Camille Barbuto

May 15, 2014

ProjLearn_1355My name is Camille Barbuto and I have worked at Project Learn as an office assistant for one year. It is a rewarding experience. Since I sit at the front desk, I am one of the first people students see when they visit our office. I try to make everyone feel welcome and encourage them to do their best, whether they are returning to school after 15 years or taking the GED test.

One experience I will never forget was when I first started and there was a guy who performed cleaning services for the library, and he was always very friendly. During a conversation, I asked him if he needed his GED and he said yes, however, he was not enrolled in classes nor had he taken the steps needed to take the test. I bugged him daily until he registered for classes. He earned his GED a few months later and now plans on attending college. I was, and still am, very proud of him!

The Project Learn staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, and does everything they can to help steer students on the path to success. I am happy to be a part of this amazing team.
